This song was written to honour J.P. Cadorette (AKA Peter), a friend and leader in Scouting who died too young... but who made some good memories of fun, laughter and friendship with us before he left.

To Peter

There's an empty place around the campfire
There's an empty space inside my heart
And every time I feel the memories come flooding back
That's the time I feel the flood of teardrops start

There'll be one less voice to join in singing
There'll be one less player in the game
There'll be one less joker at the table
Oh, without you, things can never be the same

But we'll go on somehow
Thinking of you now
And thanking you for all you've given us
The memories of good times
Of laughter and of rhymes
Now ashes to ashes
And dust to dust

There's an empty place around the campfire
There's an empty space inside my heart
And every time I feel the memories come flooding back
That's the time I feel the flood of teardrops start
